Editorial and Publication Integrity Policy

Jurnal Perspektif Hukum & Konstitusi is committed to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record.

This policy distinguishes withdrawal of unpublished manuscripts from correction or retraction of published articles.

01

Author Request for Withdrawal

Authors seeking withdrawal must submit a written request through the official submission system or designated editorial contact.

The request should:

  • identify the manuscript and submission ID;
  • explain the reason for withdrawal;
  • be submitted by the corresponding author or an authorized representative; and
  • confirm that co-authors have been informed and agree where applicable.

Withdrawal is effective only after written confirmation by the Editorial Office.

02

Reasons for Withdrawal

Reasons may include substantial errors, methodological problems, unresolved authorship disputes, ethical concerns, or other circumstances preventing responsible publication.

The journal may request supporting information before deciding.

03

Withdrawal at Different Stages

STAGE 01

Before Peer Review

Withdrawal may generally be processed after formal request.

STAGE 02

During Review

Authors should explain the circumstances.

STAGE 03

After Acceptance

Additional consideration may be required because editing, production, metadata preparation, or DOI registration may have begun.

04

Submission Elsewhere

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under active consideration.

Submission elsewhere may occur only after formal confirmation of withdrawal.

05

Retraction of Published Articles

Retraction may be considered where reliable evidence shows that a published article is seriously unreliable or involves substantial misconduct.

Grounds may include:

  • plagiarism;
  • fabricated or falsified data;
  • serious errors invalidating principal conclusions;
  • significant ethical violations;
  • serious authorship misconduct;
  • intellectual-property infringement;
  • fabricated legal authorities; or
  • manipulation of peer review.
06

Correction and Expression of Concern

If an error affects part of an article but does not invalidate it as a whole, the journal may publish a correction or erratum.

An expression of concern may be issued where substantial questions remain unresolved while an investigation is ongoing.

07

Retraction Notice

A retraction notice should identify the affected article, explain the reason in sufficient detail, and be linked to the original publication.

The journal should preserve the publication record and clearly mark the article’s status rather than silently removing it, except where removal is required by law or necessary to address exceptional risks.

08

Investigation and Fairness

The journal will assess evidence impartially, seek explanations from relevant parties where appropriate, and take action proportionate to the seriousness of the concern.

Confidentiality will be maintained where possible while protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.

09

Withdrawal Workflow

The general workflow is:

  1. Receipt of formal request.
  2. Editorial review.
  3. Request for clarification or documents if needed.
  4. Decision by the authorized Editor.
  5. Written notice to the corresponding author.
10

Editorial Commitment

The journal respects legitimate withdrawal requests while maintaining responsibility for transparent editorial procedures and a reliable published record.
