Author Guidlines

Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the Author Guidelines provided below before submitting them through the journal’s online submission system. The JSERR manuscript template is developed based on these guidelines and must be used by all authors.

Use of Word Processing Software

Manuscripts must be saved in the native format of the word processing software used, namely .doc or .docx. Authors are required to use the official JSERR template when preparing their manuscripts.

Article Structure

1. Title

The title should be concise, clear, and accurately reflect the main ideas and key findings of the study.

2. Abstract

The abstract must be written concisely and include:

  • research objectives,
  • methods,
  • main results,
  • brief discussion, and
  • implications or contributions to science education research.

3. Keywords

A maximum of six (6) keywords or phrases should be provided. Keywords must be relevant to the research objectives and results.

4. Introduction

The introduction must include:

  • background of the study,
  • research problems and objectives,
  • relevant literature review, and
  • the novelty and contribution of the study.

5. Literature Review

This section presents relevant theoretical frameworks and previous studies that support and contextualize the research.

6. Research Method

The research method must be described in sufficient detail to allow the study to be replicated. It should include the research design, participants or objects, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures.

7. Results

Results should be presented clearly and concisely. Tables and figures must be referred to and explained narratively in the text.

8. Discussion

The discussion should critically interpret the results by comparing them with relevant theories and previous research findings. Appropriate references are mandatory in this section.

9. Conclusion

The conclusion should consist of approximately five (5) sentences, written concisely, and aligned with the objectives and findings presented in the abstract.

10. References

Authors must use the APA referencing style for both in-text citations and the reference list. Authors are strongly encouraged to cite relevant and recent journal articles whenever possible.
