Peer Review Process
Transparent evaluation, independent scholarship, and academic integrity at every stage of publication.
Quality and integrity in every submission
Jurnal Sosial & Politik Kontemporer is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality, research integrity, transparency, and scholarly relevance. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an editorial assessment and peer-review process before a final publication decision is made.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Jurnal Sosial & Politik Kontemporer adopts a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process. This approach is intended to promote impartial evaluation and ensure that editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit rather than personal, institutional, or other non-academic considerations.
Initial Editorial Screening
Every submitted manuscript is initially assessed by the Editorial Office and/or the assigned Editor before external peer review.
- conformity with the journal's Aims, Focus and Scope;
- originality and potential scholarly contribution;
- relevance to contemporary social and political issues;
- clarity of research objectives and questions;
- appropriateness of the theoretical framework and methodology;
- quality of academic writing and presentation;
- completeness and relevance of references;
- compliance with the Author Guidelines;
- research ethics and disclosure requirements, where applicable; and
- textual similarity and possible publication misconduct.
Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope, contain serious methodological deficiencies, fail to meet minimum academic standards, or raise substantial ethical concerns may be rejected at this stage without external review.
External Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the relevant research area.
Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, subject expertise, research experience, methodological competence, and independence from the authors.
Where reviewer recommendations differ substantially, the Editor may request additional opinions or conduct further editorial assessment.
Criteria for Peer Review
Reviewers assess manuscripts according to the following criteria.
Originality and Scholarly Contribution
The manuscript should provide original findings, theoretical insights, critical analysis, or meaningful contributions to existing knowledge.

The manuscript should address issues relevant to social sciences, political studies, governance, public policy, or related interdisciplinary fields.

Academic Writing and References
The manuscript should be logically structured, clearly written, properly cited, and supported by credible academic references.
Reviewer Responsibilities

- complete reviews within the agreed timeframe whenever possible.
