Article Retraction & Withdrawal
Procedures for manuscript withdrawal, article correction, and retraction to protect the integrity of scholarly publication.
Editorial and Publication Integrity Policy
Jurnal Ekonomi, Bisnis, dan Manajemen is committed to protecting the reliability, accuracy, and transparency of the scholarly record.
This policy establishes procedures for withdrawing manuscripts before publication and correcting or retracting articles that have already been published.
Author's Request for Withdrawal
Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript must submit a formal written request through the journal's official submission system or designated communication channel.
The request should identify the manuscript, explain the reason for withdrawal, and confirm that all co-authors have been informed and agree where applicable.
Withdrawal becomes effective only after the Editorial Office issues formal confirmation.
Grounds for Withdrawal
Legitimate reasons may include significant methodological errors, unresolved authorship disputes, ethical concerns, data integrity problems, or other circumstances that prevent responsible publication.
The journal may request supporting documents or further clarification before making a decision.
Withdrawal at Different Editorial Stages
Before Peer Review
Withdrawal requests may generally be processed after editorial confirmation.
During Peer Review
The journal may request an explanation, particularly when reviewers have already undertaken substantial work.
After Acceptance
Additional editorial consideration may be necessary because copyediting, production, DOI registration, or issue preparation may have begun.
Submission to Another Journal
Authors must not submit the same manuscript elsewhere while it remains under active consideration.
Submission to another journal may proceed only after withdrawal has been formally confirmed.
Resubmission
A withdrawn manuscript may be reconsidered if the relevant concerns have been addressed and the manuscript complies with current submission requirements.
Resubmission does not guarantee acceptance.
Retraction of Published Articles
Retraction may be considered when reliable evidence indicates that a published article is seriously unreliable or involves substantial misconduct.
Possible grounds include:
- plagiarism or substantial unattributed duplication;
- fabrication or falsification of data;
- serious analytical or methodological errors that invalidate the principal findings;
- significant ethical violations;
- serious authorship or publication misconduct;
- substantial intellectual property infringement; or
- manipulation of the peer-review or publication process.
For economics and business research, concerns may also involve manipulated financial statements, fabricated survey responses, falsified market data, or materially misrepresented analytical results.
Correction and Expression of Concern
If an error does not invalidate the overall article, the journal may issue a correction or erratum.
An expression of concern may be issued when substantial questions remain unresolved during an investigation.
Retraction Notices
Retraction notices should identify the affected article, explain the reason for retraction, and be linked to the original publication.
The journal will retain appropriate notices and article records to maintain transparency and protect the scholarly record.
Withdrawal and Retraction
Withdrawal
Withdrawal generally concerns manuscripts that have not been formally published.
Retraction
Retraction concerns published articles requiring a formal notice to address serious problems with the scholarly record.
Published articles are not ordinarily removed solely because an author changes their mind.
Investigation and Fairness
The journal will assess concerns impartially, request explanations where appropriate, and take action proportionate to the evidence and seriousness of the issue.
Confidentiality will be maintained where appropriate, subject to the requirements of a fair investigation.
Withdrawal Procedure
The withdrawal procedure generally consists of:
- Submission of a formal withdrawal request.
- Editorial review of the request.
- Request for clarification or supporting documentation, where necessary.
- Issuance of an editorial decision.
- Written confirmation to the corresponding author.
Editorial Commitment
Jurnal Ekonomi, Bisnis, dan Manajemen is committed to respecting legitimate author requests while maintaining editorial transparency, publication ethics, and the reliability of published research.
