JPPGPS: Journal of Public Policy, Government and Political Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Suwaib Amiruddin Foundation. This publication ethics statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement refers to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
JPPGPS aims to serve as a platform for the advancement of scientific knowledge in the fields of public policy, government studies, and political science. The publication of high-quality, peer-reviewed articles contributes to the development of a credible and cohesive body of scholarly knowledge. Upholding ethical standards is crucial for maintaining the integrity and impact of the academic record.
The Suwaib Amiruddin Foundation, as the publisher of JPPGPS, is committed to ensuring the highest standards of integrity throughout the publication process. The publisher supports editorial independence and does not allow commercial interests to influence editorial decisions. The publisher also facilitates ethical oversight and ensures that all stakeholders comply with best practices in academic publishing.
Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts exclusively based on academic merit, regardless of the authors' background or identity. Manuscripts considered for publication must meet ethical standards and comply with the journal’s policies on plagiarism and copyright.
Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and disclose no information to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher. Editors must not use unpublished materials for personal research without the author's explicit consent.
Peer reviewers play a critical role in the editorial decision-making process. They are expected to conduct evaluations objectively, provide constructive feedback, and identify any potential ethical concerns such as plagiarism or redundancy. Reviewers should inform the editor if they are unqualified to review a manuscript or unable to provide a timely review.
All reviewed manuscripts must be treated as confidential. Reviewers must disclose any conflict of interest and should not use privileged information gained through the peer review process for personal advantage.
Authors must submit original and accurate work, provide appropriate citations, and avoid plagiarism in any form. Data presented must be truthful and reproducible, and authors may be asked to provide raw data during the review process.
Manuscripts should not be submitted to more than one journal simultaneously, nor should they contain redundant or previously published material without proper disclosure.
Authorship must be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
If the research involves human subjects, hazardous materials, or animals, authors must explicitly state the necessary ethical approvals and precautions taken.
Any financial support or potential conflicts of interest must be fully disclosed in the manuscript. In case of a major error in a published article, authors are expected to promptly inform the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the work.
JPPGPS strictly prohibits plagiarism. All manuscripts undergo plagiarism detection using standard software before the review process. The maximum similarity threshold allowed is 20%. Any manuscript exceeding this limit will be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
By submitting a manuscript to JPPGPS, all parties affirm their commitment to uphold these ethical principles and contribute to the advancement of academic integrity and public trust in scholarly communication.
