JPPGPS is a scholarly journal that publishes research articles and critical reflections in the fields of public policy, governance, and politics. Established to address the challenges of public administration and contemporary political dynamics, the journal presents both theoretical and empirical analyses from academics, researchers, and practitioners.
This area encompasses a comprehensive study of the public policy cycle, from formulation and implementation to evaluation. It focuses on policy innovation driven by participation and data, policy analysis using both theoretical and practical approaches, and the socio-economic impacts of policies. Topics also explore crisis-responsive policy design, sectoral policy reforms (in education, health, energy, and the environment), as well as gender-based and socially inclusive policy issues.
This section examines how governments manage and serve the public through sound governance practices. Topics include bureaucratic reform, the effectiveness of e-government, and fiscal and political decentralization. It also covers comparative studies of public administration models, inter-institutional relations, and cross-sector collaboration between government, private entities, and civil society. Contemporary issues such as the governance of migration, urbanization, and the development of smart cities are also central to this theme.
This field highlights the dynamics of power, representation, and democracy at both local and global levels. Its scope includes political systems, political behavior, electoral systems, as well as democratization and authoritarianism. Other core focuses involve identity politics, populism, money politics, and the role of the military and security forces in civil politics. It also explores foreign policy, diplomacy, and comparative studies of democracy in developing countries.
This section adopts a multidisciplinary approach to understand the transformation of governance and public sector institutions. Major topics include digital governance, the use of big data and artificial intelligence in adaptive policymaking, as well as risk governance and institutional resilience. Social justice, gender mainstreaming, climate change policy, public leadership, and administrative ethics are also emphasized as key components in shaping modern bureaucratic transformation.
This section addresses governance and political challenges from both comparative and global perspectives. The topics include regional autonomy, local government performance, regional integration, and the dynamics of regional politics. It also focuses on global geopolitical issues, international security, public diplomacy, and the soft power strategies of states. Additionally, it includes studies on Islam and politics in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and the governance of humanitarian crises and cross-border disaster response policies.
