Eligible manuscripts proceed through double-blind peer review by at least two independent specialists in clinical medicine, biomedical science, or biostatistics. Additional expert or statistical review may be requested when needed. The Editor-in-Chief makes final decisions based on scientific quality, clinical significance, research ethics, and reviewer evaluations, independently of commercial interests.
Research ethics, patient protection, and editorial independence
The journal follows the principles of COPE, ICMJE, and the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki. Studies involving human participants or animal models must document appropriate ethics approval; applicable patient informed consent and confidentiality protections are mandatory. The journal prohibits fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate image manipulation, and misleading use of artificial intelligence. Relevant funding and competing interests must be disclosed, and unpublished medical manuscripts must not be uploaded to third-party AI platforms by reviewers.
